Juan Pablo Cappello is a well-known entrepreneur and deeply involved in supporting venture capital and impact investing. In the past few years he has co-founded www.idea.me, the leading Latin America crowdfunding site; www.thelabmiami.com, a 10,000 sq.ft. campus for creative entrepreneurs in the Wynwood Art’s district in Miami; and www.agpmiami, a Miami based angel investing group.
Juan Pablo was a partner in and a director of Patagon.com, which was sold to Banco Santander for a transaction value of over US$750 million, and currently runs a law firm Private Advising Group he founded. Juan Pablo, a Duke University alumnus, was named one of the “Most Influential Hispanics” in by Poder magazine in the areas of science and technology and was selected as a “Top 50 Entrepreneur” by Business Leader magazine. Juan Pablo serves on the Advisory Committee of the John S. & James L. Knight Foundation. He also is a GAB member of Endeavor.org and a member of the Legal Committee of the Latin American Venture Capital Association.
Mike Rodriguez, a Principal at Medina Capital, has more than 17 years of experience in financial planning and analysis with industry experience in technology, media and marketing communications within the Latin American and US markets. Mike is responsible for evaluating potential investment opportunities and providing Medina Capital’s portfolio companies with financial modeling expertise. Prior to joining Medina Capital, Mike served as VP of Financial Planning at Terremark Verizon where he was responsible for aligning the company’s $1.5 billion operation plan. Prior to joining Terremark, Mike held various positions at Live Nation as Senior Director of Financial Planning, Young and Rubicam as Director of Finance and MTV Networks as Senior Director of Financial Planning. Mike started his professional career at MTV Networks Latin America as part of the Financial Planning team leading the launch of MTV, Nickelodeon, VH1 and MTVLA.com in Latin America.
Education: Mike received a Master’s in Business Administration from Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management and a Master’s in Accountancy at Florida International University. Mike also received a Bachelor’s in Accounting from Florida State University.
