Leo Portes, Director, Claims, Property & Casualty, Crystal & Co
Leo Portes joined Crystal & Company’s Miami office in 2018 as a member of the Commercial Property & Casualty department. He manages high volume General Liability and Workers Compensation claims while working at a strategic level to develop and retain consultative, partnership relationships with customers, prospects, and markets.
Leo manages client relationships to understand client goals and expectations. He reports all General Liability claims on behalf of our clients to the client’s respective insurers, while providing services such as conducting claim reviews with clients and their respective insurers, through all phases of the claim handling process.
In addition, Leo works with team members at all levels to ensure client satisfaction. He proactively address client issues when possible, and immediately addresses matters impacting customer satisfaction as they arise. Leo also manages and grows underwriter/carrier/broker relationships to ensure understanding of goals and expectations.
Leo has 20 years in the Insurance Industry, specializing in Claims Management and Litigation. Prior to joining Crystal & Company, he spent 3 years as a Senior Risk Manager. Leo holds a Bachelor in Business Management (Summa Cum Laude) from Florida International University.
Jordan is an Equal Justice Works fellow at Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc. in Miami, FL. He is a graduate of New York University School of Law, where he received the Dean John Sexton Prize for service to the NYU Law community. He is admitted to practice in New York and Florida, and is a member of both the American and New York State Bar Associations.
Prior to Legal Services, Jordan practiced as a corporate attorney at Whiteman Osterman & Hanna LLP, Albany’s leading law firm. While at NYU Law, Jordan led the student government as President of the NYU Student Bar Association (SBA), where he helped create the first ever student-led fundraising campaign to increase summer stipend funding for public interest students and lobbied for greater focus on academic and classroom diversity policies. During the summer after his first year, he worked as a judicial intern for the Honorable Alexander Williams, Jr. of the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, Southern Division. He was also a Development Editor on the Annual Survey of American Law, and Treasurer of the Black Allied Law Student Association (BALSA). Jordan graduated in 2010 from George Washington University’s School of Business with a Bachelor of Business Administration concentrating in Finance and a Minor in Philosophy, cum laude.
Jorge Rey, Chief Information & Security Officer, Kaufman Rossin
As the Chief Information Security Officer for Kaufman Rossin, Jorge Rey is responsible for the firm’s compliance with federal and state cyber security and information privacy laws and regulations. As the Director of Information Security and Compliance, he brings his expertise in cyber security and information privacy to the firm’s clients.
Jorge helps organizations ranging from startups to large public and privately held companies address information security, compliance and IT needs. He brings notable experience in information management and governance, IT security, risk management, technology and consulting to his clients. He manages and performs a variety of cyber security and compliance assessments as well as SOC reports for companies in the financial services, healthcare, and technology industries.
Jorge is a frequent speaker and has been featured in many major publications, including The Miami Herald, ComputerWorld, ABA Banking Journal, Healthcare Fraud, and others. He has been recognized by the South Florida Business Journal as one of top professionals under the age of 40.
He is an adjunct faculty in graduate business and healthcare programs. Jorge serves on the South Florida HIMSS board and is past Chairman of the ARMA Palm Beach Treasure coast.
He is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM). He holds a master’s degree in Information Technology from Nova Southeastern University and a certificate in Administration of Information Security, recognized by the National Security Agency (NSA).
